Tuesday, December 29th began as a cloudy day with a few minor spells. Around 11 o’clock people could enjoy the newly fallen snow and pleasant sunshine.

At the beginning of the afternoon the clouds took over again and it quickly started to rain and snow in the valley (from + / - 2200m). With little visibility below 2200m the skiing conditions were far from perfect.

In Val Thorens, the new ‘magic carpet’ lifts were in full use. The passage in the center towards the Funitel the Péclet was very crowded, so one must be  very careful during rush hour to ski towards the lower lifts.
